Teach Decoding Fast!

by Phyllis E. Fischer, Ph.D.

Dr. Phyllis Fischer, the author of Concept Phonics,  holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and has more than 35 years of experience in research, teaching, and clinical practice in helping people to read.

This two-day interactive workshop is designed for K–2 mainstream classroom teachers, Title I teachers, reading specialists, and special education teachers.  No prior experience with teaching phonics is necessary.

In this workshop, you will learn the orthographic and phonological structures of one- and two-syllable English words.  You will practice the activities needed for teaching children how to decode these words effectively and fast.  The Concept Phonics model is the key for getting children automatic on these decoding skills so quickly that the majority of class time can be spent on contextual reading activities.

From recent workshops:

“The information can be easily applied.  I  think it will really benefit my students.”

“I have been trained in Orton and Wilson and love what I saw today for struggling readers!!”

“I liked the fact that this really did present different ways to teach phonics.”
